Association for Education and Social Development (Društvo za izobraževanje in socialni razvoj – Društvo DISORA) is a non-profit NGO from Maribor, Slovenia. Organization was established in 2018 with the aim to contribute to a positive change and better integration of vulnerable groups through programs and activities in the areas of lifelong learning, culture, sports, and social development.
DISORA is addressing challenges of different vulnerable groups - migrants, unemployed, old people, less privileged youth among others. The challenges include cultural and social integration, intergenerational dialogue and cooperation, active citizenship, entrepreneurship, language learning, and improvement of different basic skills.
We are experienced in developing and testing curriculums and learning/teaching materials, exchanging good practices, developing applications, and testing innovative practices.
At the moment, we are participating in 2 international Erasmus+ projects for adult education. In the first one we are developing self-learning materials for building entrepreneur skills, and in the second one we are preparing and testing train the trainer materials for building basic home economy skills for most vulnerable groups of society.
Organization has 3 part-time employees and devoted volunteers. Together we have more than 25 years of experience in the areas of lifelong learning and various aspects of project work/project management. We have built a network of relevant institutions and stakeholders in Slovenia as well as in the field of European projects.
